Tile roof repair in Cave Creek, Phoenix and the Valley

Cracked tile, slipped tile, loose ridges and the leaks they let in. We fix the tile and tell you honestly what's going on underneath it.

A broken tile is easy to replace. The real question on a tile roof is the underlayment beneath it, because that's what keeps the water out. We check both, show you pictures, and quote only what the roof needs.

Tile roof work we do

  • Replacing cracked, broken and missing tile
  • Resetting slipped tile and securing loose tile
  • Fixing cracked mortar on ridges and hips
  • Sealing pipe vents and other roof penetrations
  • Flashing around chimneys, skylights and walls
  • Finding and fixing leaks under the tile

Why tile roofs leak with good looking tile

Tile sheds most of the rain, but some water always gets under it. The underlayment below the tile is what stops that water from reaching your home. After enough Arizona summers it dries out, cracks and tears. When that happens, a cracked or slipped tile turns into a ceiling stain.

So when we fix a tile roof, we look under the tile too. If the underlayment still has life, a repair is the right call. If it's brittle everywhere, we'll show you, and explain underlayment replacement.

Keep it from getting worse

Have the roof looked at every 3 to 4 years and after any big storm. Small things like a slipped tile or a cracked pipe seal are cheap to fix early and expensive to fix after a season of rain.

Tile roof questions

Do I need a new tile roof if a few tiles are broken?

Usually not. Broken tiles can be replaced on their own. What matters more is the condition of the underlayment under the tile, which we check during the inspection.

How often should a tile roof be inspected?

Every 3 to 4 years, and after any major storm or severe weather.

Can I walk on my tile roof to check it?

We don't recommend it. Tile cracks under foot traffic when you don't know where to step, and a fall from a roof is dangerous. Let us look.
