Most tile roofs here leak from underneath

On a tile roof, the tile mostly shades the layer that actually keeps water out: the underlayment. Years of Arizona sun dry it out until it cracks. Then a monsoon storm finds the gaps, even when the tile still looks fine from the street.

How underlayment replacement works
New underlayment going down on a tile roof, with the tile stacked in rows to go back on
  • Water stains on a ceiling, often near a valley, a chimney or a pipe vent
  • A leak that came back after it was patched
  • Cracked or slipped tiles with dark, brittle paper showing under them
  • A tile roof 20 years old or more that has never had underlayment work

How it works

  1. Free roof inspection

We get on the roof and take pictures of what we find, so you can see it for yourself. It usually takes 30 to 60 minutes.

  2. A written quote

What it needs, what it costs and what's covered, before any work starts. No pressure.

  3. The work, then photos

Most repairs are done the same day. If we don't stop a leak on the first visit, we come back until it's fixed.

Storm damage? We help with the insurance claim.

We had a leak in our garage after a few days of heavy rain. Scott came out and inspected our 20yo roof, said it was time to get it replaced. Scott had done work on both mine, and my wife's previous homes, and did a great job, so naturally we hired him to fix our current home. His crew was respectful, tidy, and did a great job. Scott came out to inspect everything after the new roof was on, and inspected again after the solar company reinstalled the solar panels. He said he always makes sure everything is right. Scott stands behind his work and doesn't say a job is complete until it meets his quality standards. I highly recommend Arizona Valley Roofing when you have Roofing needs.

We called Arizona Valley Roofing for an emergency leak repair on a Sunday morning and Scott came out the same day to temporarily fix the problem before more rain arrived. His investigation revealed that our underlayment was in poor condition, so we got quotes from several roofers for a full redo - we went with Arizona Valley Roofing as they quoted quality materials and were able to start the following week. We recently had a week of rain and everything stayed nice and dry. Highly recommended!

My home is 30 years old, and it was the original tile roof. Well of course it started to leak. I contacted several roofing companies in the area and got 4 estimates. I decided to go with Arizona Valley Roofing was very professional and friendly. They not only offer a very competitive price, but Scott is also very friendly and professional. I am so glad I did! His crew has great. They were on time, did clean quality work. Replacing the under laminate on a tile roof is not a fun expense, Arizona Valley Roofing at least made the process easy.
